Shaolin Broadsword is one of the four main weapons of Shaolin one has to master (the other three are; Staff, Spears and Straight Sword).
This course not only teach the core techniques of Broadsword but also helps you to build the solid foundations needed for more advanced Sword forms. At the end of the course you will be perform this beautiful form together with mastering the core foundations of Shaolin Broadsword.
Shifu Yan Xin has designed the course to be learned in 6 weeks. Each week focuses on one section of the form, the sessions are designed to help you learn in the best way possible with section devoted to learning and sections where devoted to practice. Shifu Yan Xin has been teaching Shaolin kung fu since the 1990s, from a nearly lifetime of teaching experiencing he has distilled his teaching method along the way and has designed the course learning experience in the most learner friendly way. You may even find learning with this online course better than in real person, as you can really focusing in the details, pause when you need to, where this is not possible to do in in-person trainings or live classes.

This course is for anyone who wishes to explore this introductory weapon form in the Shaolin Arts.
How to Participate in this Course
To enable you to learn this Shaolin weapons form as easy as possible, Shifu Yan Xin has broken down the whole form into bite sized sessions, there are 6 sessions in total, which we will work through one by one.
To get the most out of the training and to learn the form correctly please take the sessions in the order they are presented in.

You can learn the form in your own pace, we recommend that you learn 1 Session per week and practice that section throughout the week to get the form into your muscle memory before moving on to the next session.
If you are really keen to learn ahead, we recommend to learn no more than 2 sessions a week so that there is time for you to take in the details of each section and practice them before moving on to the next. This way you get the most benefit out of the learning experience.

Yan Xin Shi
Master Shifu
A 34th generation Shaolin Disciple, trained in the Shaolin Temple, China from the age of 10. Took part in the Shaolin Wheel of Life world tour in the later 1990s and early 2000s, then moved to the UK to teach students, now resides in the Wicklow Mountains in Ireland with family and continues with the goal of sharing his own insight of Kung Fu to students around the world.
